چکیده

MR cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is widely used in the evaluation of pancreatobiliary disorders. As with all MRI techniques, there are pitfalls that may lead to incorrect interpretation. Limitation of Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography in The Evaluation of Biliary Tree Pathology

Objective: Many pitfalls have been encountered in evaluation of Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) images that alter its diagnostic accuracy, the awareness of these pitfalls help in avoiding misinterpretation of images. Patients and Methods: From the 234 patients, this retrospective study including 24 patients with false MRCP diagnosis compared with Endoscopic Retrograde Cholang...

Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography: the ABC of MRCP

Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is a technique that has evolved over the past two decades. It continues to have a fundamental role in the non-invasive investigation of many pancreatico-biliary disorders. The purpose of this review is to summarise the key concepts behind MRCP, the different techniques that are currently employed (including functional and secretin-stimulated MR...

Pitfalls of MRCP in the diagnosis of pancreaticobiliary maljunction.

CONTEXT Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is useful for examining the pancreatic duct system in patients with acute pancreatitis instead of using endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), as ERCP-induced pancreatitis represents a serious problem. However, we present here a case of idiopathic acute pancreatitis in which MRCP suggested pancreaticobiliary maljunction,...

Post-cholecystectomy syndrome: spectrum of biliary findings at magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography.

Post-cholecystectomy syndrome (PCS) is defined as a complex of heterogeneous symptoms, consisting of upper abdominal pain and dyspepsia, which recur and/or persist after cholecystectomy. Nevertheless, this term is inaccurate, as it encompasses biliary and non-biliary disorders, possibly unrelated to cholecystectomy. Biliary manifestations of PCS may occur early in the post-operative period, usu...
